Hello and welcome to my 99 Firemaking guide! I love Firemaking, and know a couple things to help you, too, get 99! In this guide, I'll show you what to burn at what level, how many logs it takes to get to a desired level, and ideal places to burn. Without further ado, let's begin!
First things first, get the right materials for the job.
You'll need one of these, a tinderbox, to burn the logs.
You can buy these at any General Store for a mere 1 gp.
What to Burn
Fast Method
1-15 Logs (40 exp each )
You need to burn about 61 Logs to reach 15.
15-30 Oak Logs ( 60 exp each )
You need to burn about 183 Oak Logs to reach 30.
30-45 Willow Logs ( 90 exp each )
You need to burn about 535 Willow Logs to reach 45.
45-60 Maple Logs ( 135 exp each )
You need to burn about 1,573 Maple Logs to reach 60.
60-75 Yew Logs ( 202.5 exp each )
You need to burn about 4,626 Yew Logs to reach 75.
75-99 Magic Logs ( 303.8 exp each )
You need to burn about 38,921 Magic Logs to reach 99.
NOTE: This is the fastest method to get 99, but also the most expensive way. Magic Logs cost about 1,150-1,250 gp each.
Cheap Method
1-15 Logs ( 40 exp each )
You need to burn about 61 Logs to reach 15.
15-30 Oak Logs ( 60 exp each )
You need to burn about 183 Oak Logs to reach 30.
30-45 Willow Logs ( 90 exp each )
You need to burn about 535 Willow Logs to reach 45.
45-99 Maple Logs ( 135 exp each )
You need to burn about 96,096 Maple Logs to reach 99.
NOTE: This isn't the fastest method, but will get you 99 fairly cheap. Maple logs cost about 70-80 gp each.
Places to Burn
NOTE: When you burn a log, your character moves west.
Ideal Places:
Seer's Village
Seer's Village is a good place because it has 3 lines to Firemake on, and has a nearby bank.
Varrock west
Varrock West is an O.K. spot because it has 4 lines going west, and can support 2 Firemakers at once, but the bank can be a little too far away from where you end. Although, you can see all your nooby Dawn friends while Firemaking! (:P)
Falador East
I love this spot the most, because it has 4+ lines heading west and nobody really goes here. The bad side is, you'll more than likely be lonely here.
Port Phasmatys
Port Phasmatys is ideal because it has 4 long lines and barely anybody comes to the town. The bad side is, again, you'll be lonely.
Draynor Village
This is an O.K. spot, because there are about 3 lines to Firemake on. Plus its easy to access.
Not so Good Places:
Yanille
This is not the best spot because, when you burn a log, you walk away from the bank. Afterward, you have to run all the way back.
Ardougne
There is no clear path heading west in these spots. Unless you like to change paths constantly, do not Firemake here.
Al-Kharid
Not the best place because, once again, there is no long path heading westward. There are multiple smaller paths, but this would slow down your exp/hr.
Edgeville
Leaving the bank to get to your starting spot takes precious time, and to get back to the bank. Not acceptable.
Catherby
The lines heading west aren't many, which is why this is not the ideal spot to Firemake.
99 Firemaking Achieved
Once you have reached 99 Firemaking, it would be wise to know where the heck to get the cape and hood. Here is the general area for the NPC.
NOTE: This is south of Seer's Bank, west of Catherby, or north of Legends' Guild.
Once you reach the area, you want to talk to this guy.
And for 99k, you can buy that Firemaking cape and hood and gloat to all your friends.
Shoutouts
I want to give some shoutouts to certain members of the clan...
First, I want to thank Japing for giving me his Yew Log and doing great as a Forum Mod!
Next shoutout goes to Dawn TilMorn for giving me his Magic Log!
Last, but not the least, I want to give a special shoutout to Dawn Moogle and his efforts to make these Forums possible. Your hard work really paid off man, and you did a very nice job on it.
I could not have made this guide without these guys, Thanks again and happy burning!
